Obuasi, March 4, GNA- An Assistant Director of Education at the Adansi West district education office, has observed that private participation in basic education was helping to address the high incidence of illiteracy in the district.
He has therefore encouraged well-meaning Ghanaians to invest in basic education as a way of providing good foundation for the youth. Mr Kofi Nti, the Assistant Director said this when he inspected a 300,000-dollar school project being constructed by a Ghanaian in the United States, Mr George Impraim at Pomposo near Obuasi on Monday. The two-storey project will consist of a nursery, kindergarten, primary and a junior secondary school.
Mr Nti said the school would go a long way to increase access and participation to education.
The Assistant Director commended Mr Impraim for the foresight and assured him of support.
Mr Impraim said his primary aim of going into school project is to support efforts by the government to bring basic education to the doorstep of the people.
