Alternative medicine producers appeal to FDA to reduce registration fees

The Director of C4C Homeopathic Hospital, Dr. Micheal Kwadwo Kyeremanteng has called on government to take a second look at registration fees paid by alternative medicine producers since it is too expensive.

According to Dr. Kyeremanteng the Food and Drugs Authority (FDA) charge alternative medicine producers $3,600 for registration an amount he described as killing to the practice.

Speaking to mynewsgh.com at the launch of the Homeopathic Health Insurance Scheme at its Adenta Office in Accra, he said such huge amounts will discourage alternative medicine producers who want to provide Ghanaians with quality health care.

“I believe it is a kind of sabotage of Homeopathy despite efforts to make it for the betterment of the citizenry. Herbal medicine is far better than orthodox”.
