Appoint more Ministers – NPP youth to President

Even as government continues to come under a barrage of attacks from various individuals and organizations for its large size of government, some youth of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are seething in anger over the exclusion of their favorites.

Party youth in the Oforikrom Constituency of the Ashanti region are worried over the exclusion of the Member of Parliament (MP) for area Dr. Emmanuel Marfo from Nana Addo’s ‘elephant size government.

Contrary to the constitutional provision that states that it is President’s prerogative to appoint ministers and Chief Executive Officers (CEOs) to ministries and state-owned institutions, the youth are forcibly calling on President Akufo-Addo to appoint Dr. Emmanuel Marfo as one of his ministers.

According to the agitated Oforikrom NPP youth, their MP and former Lecturer of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) Chemistry and Environmental Department, is qualified and experienced to head Ministry of Environment, Science and Technology currently headed by Professor Kwabena Frimpong- Boateng and Madam Patracia Appiagyei as his deputy.

The youth explain their MP played a vital role in the building up of the party’s campaign in the 2016 elections hence, the need to be given a ministerial appointment as a reward to the party executives in the constituency.

“We are appealing to Nana Addo to consider our MP to motivate some of us to continue working for this great party”, they exclusively told mynewsgh.com in an interview.

The MP at the weekend on Kumasi-based Kessben Fm however in response to such calls, appealed to the youth to allow the system work naturally as the President understands his duties and responsibilities.

He counseled them to remain calm as there are various capacities he can serve his people and the nation at large.
