Residents hail government’s housing policy

Takoradi, March 3 GNA – Members of the residents association of the New-Effia Low Cost Houses in Takoradi on Wednesday urged the government to go ahead with its laudable housing policy.

They said the decision to sell the houses has given the occupants, who are civil and public servants the hope of acquiring the houses in future.

Mr. Eddie Robertson, chairman of the association said this after hundreds of the residents have gone on a peaceful demonstration against those who opposed the government’s decision.

“We wish to congratulate the government on its laudable and pragmatic housing policy, aimed at ensuring that poor Ghanaian workers are housed whilst serving their nation, and also to own houses when they go on retirement”.
