A 19-year-old carpenter known as ‘Oluman’ has been arrested by police at Awuni camp, in Bia West District of the Western region for allegedly defiling a 13-year-old Class four (4) pupil.
The suspect disclosed that he proposed love to the girl which she agreed, and subsequently led to him inviting her to a secret place and having sex with her.
The victim, on the next day after she had sex was reportedly unable to wake up from bed early as she usually did, but was helped by her parents to stand. The victim was then asked what was wrong with her, and she confessed having sex with the suspect.
Her condition grew worse and was hospitalized.
‘Oluman’ was arrested on Thursday afternoon from his hideout after a complaint was lodged by relations of the victim.
Police have said he will soon be arraigned before court and provisionally charged with defilement.
