Public Universities to use common application form

The Minister of Education, Dr. Matthew Poku Prempeh has said that government has initiated talks with all stake holders in the University Education sector to introduce a single application form for all public universities in the country.

He laments that the current system where every university has a different application forms and sold for several hundreds of Cedis ought to be revised, and a single platform introduced just as it is at the Secondary school level.

The Minister disclosed this at a press Soirée held at the forecourt of the Education Ministry Tuesday evening.

The Minister also hinted that his ministry intends to extensively engage all stakeholders in the educational sector to ensure that education in Ghana is greatly improved.

He also disclosed that the three months’ pay policy of teachers is being reviewed and will be subsequently be cancelled.

This, he said, will bring some sanity in the teacher recruitment program nationwide and ensure that all the cases of forged teacher recruitments are dealt with and also to bring some calm among teacher unions in the country
