First Lady donates to orphanage on 66th birthday

First Lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo donated some items to the Chance for Children Home at Amasaman on her 66th birthday on March 12.

This donation by the First Lady is just one of many donations, over the years to support the vulnerable in society.

In a brief message to the workers and children she gave them the President’s best wishes and encouraged the children to learn hard and stay hopeful.

Among the items she donated were bags of rice, oil, biscuits, drinks, diapers, shoes, milks, Milo, sardines and tissue papers.

Mr Awuley Nartey, Director of the home thanked the First Lady and wished her a fruitful long life.

Chance for Children is an international NGO established by a Ghanaian and Swiss, Mr Amon Kotey and Daniela Ruedisueli Sodja to reach out to children living on the street to identify their needs and empower them.

They however reintegrate them back to their families and support them when necessary.
