Ex-President Rawlings has apologized for ‘snubbing’ me – Okoe Vanderpuije

The Member of Parliament for Ablekuma and former Mayor of Accra, Alfred Okoe Vandepuije says Ex-President Rawlings apologized to him after awkwardly snubbing him at the forecourt of Parliament some months ago.

It will be recalled that ex-President Rawlings seemingly snubbed the former AMA boss whiles the pair were making their way to Ghana’s Parliament ahead of the final State of the Nation address delivered by former President John Dramani Mahama

The act which drew criticism from a cross-section of Ghanaians who believed the former leader embarrased his fellow party man was defended by the National Organizer of the NDC who accused the former AMA boss of breaching protocol

But in an interview with GhOne TV, Alfred Okoe Vanderpuije revealed that he did not feel embarrassed by the attitude displayed by his party founder on that fateful day and has wholeheartedly forgiven him after he apologized.

‘I have great respect for the former president and he is a good friend of mine. It was an unfortunate incident. He has since then apologized and there is no bad blood between us. We should let bygones be bygones. I still hold him in high esteem and there is not ill feeling between us’’
