Don’t have reservations about the voters’ registration

Kumasi, Feb 29, GNA – Reverend James Kwabena Badu, General Overseer of the African Faith Ministry International, on Sunday asked Ghanaians especially Christians not have reservations about the forthcoming voters’ registration exercise.

He said the exercise was a first step towards ensuring a credible voters’ register and the development of the country’s democracy. Rev Badu was speaking at a programme organised by the Church to educate members on the forthcoming exercise, at Kumasi. He said Christians were obliged to register as voters and to elect their leaders since the governance of the country affected all Ghanaians.

Rev Badu advised people who had decided to abstain form voting to rescind the decision and to exercise their franchise in the Election 2004.

“No nation can develop without stable and democratic government and therefore it behoved Christians to pray hard and get actively involved in the democratic process of the country”, he said. He asked Ghanaians not to take the relative peace the country was enjoying for granted and to work hard to sustain the country’s democracy.
