Akim Oda, Feb. 29, GNA – The Bishop of Winneba Dioceses of the Methodist Church, Ghana, the Right Reverend Jeremiah A. Morrison, has urged Ghanaians to forgive one another to help ensure the success of the national reconciliation process.
He noted that some people had: “genuine cause to take revenge by paying evil with evil” but that would not help the country in its search for peace and development.
Rev. Morrison was delivering a sermon at the induction of the Very Rev. Valentine Gyimah, as the new Superintendent Minister for the Gomua Tarkwa Circuit of the Methodist Church, Ghana, on Saturday. Rev. Morrison said: “This is the time for this nation to listen to the message of the love and forgiveness loud and clear from Christians”, adding, “the country can reconcile only when there is genuine forgiveness.”
He admonished preachers of the gospel to lead life of humility and march their words with deeds “since one cannot preach virtues and practice vices.”
Rev. Valentine promised to work assiduously to raise the image of the Circuit entrusted into his care to enhance the transformation of the church.
