Taxi driver, 30, commits suicide at Half Assini

A taxi driver believed to be in his mid 30s and only identified as Aye has committed suicide at Half Assini in Jomoro district of the Western Region.

Philomena Yirankyi a resident of the area disclosed to mynewsgh.com that the deceased who is married to a certain Tayiba committed the act on Saturday morning.

“A food vendor in the area disclosed to the police that he came there earlier this morning and said he wanted to buy some food but was told the food was not ready only to be told at about 6am that he committed suicide by hanging on mango tree at Peace Town a suburb of the area”

The body has since been deposited at the Half Assini government hospital.

Police confirmed the incident to mynewsgh.com and disclosed that investigations into the incident have since commenced.
