‘Be bold and take your freedom’ – Otiko urges women

Madam Otiko Afisa Djaba, Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection has asked employers to treat women employees with dignity and respect at the workplace to forge a better working world for all women.

She thus advocated for an inclusive cultures, that will admit women into decision-making at all levels in the society, be ye at home or the office.

Madam Otiko Djaba made the call on Wednesday on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.5 FM to commemorate the International Women’s Day celebration, March 8, 2017.

Her call comes almost days after the unfolding saga of the Mawarko assault that involved a Lebanese supervisor and a 25 year old Ghanaian worker at the Abelenkpe branch of the Fast Food company.

Madam Djaba intimated that women must step up and take bold action in their spheres of life, whether at home or the office.

She adds: “Ghanaian women on this faithful day, should know that nobody will give you your freedom; you have to take it”

The theme for this year’s IWD- 2017 celebration is #BeBoldForChange.
