Philadelphia’s Sister Mary Has Passed Away

Mr. Charles N. N-Mensah aka Mr. CNN, award-winning cameraman of Ghana’s number one homepage, Ghanaweb.com has been informed that the city of brotherly love, Philadelphia, PA, has losts one of its great people, a well-known and a well-respected lady by the name of Mary Kusi Appouh aka Sister Mary. A nurse by profession, Sister Mary affectionately called, died on Monday, February 23rd, 2004. She was well-loved by everybody, young and old in the city of Philadephia; Ghanaians, white Americans, Jews, African Americans and well connected to the Ghanaian community in America.

She is a member of the United Ghanaian Community Church, Philadephia which is led by one of the most well-respected Ghanaian Chaplains in America, Rev. Dr. Kobina Ofosu-Donkoh. She is also affiliated with numerous organizations such as Ghanaian Association of Delaware Valley, African International Association, Ga Adangbe Association of Delaware Valley, Novinyo Habobo, Ahenfo Mmerantee Association, Church of Pentecost Philadelphia, Nkoranzaman Assoc. of NY & NJ, Brong Ahafo Assoc. of Washington Metro Area and Brong Ahafo Association of Chicago.

Sister Mary was 54 years old and left behind a big family which include; Mr. Charles Kusi Appouh(widower), George Acquah Harrison(PA) Franklin Effah(PA,Ben Kwabena Asubonteng(Canada), Robert Agyeman(NY) Alhaji Gyasi(aka Alhaji)PA, Felix Opoku aka Opana,(NJ) Jenniemae Kusi-Appouh(PA), Mr & Mrs Yirenkyi(Sarratoga), Kofi Abrefa(PA), Ayensu Kodom(Chicago), Mr & Mrs Brobbey & the rest of the family in Chicago, Canada, Washington, Yaa Yaa (New Brunswick)
