Christian Atsu makes NINTH start as leaders Newcastle pull clear in Championship

Ghana star Christian Atsu was named in the Newcastle United starting line-up which beat Huddersfield Town 3-1 away to go five points clear in the Championship.

Manager Rafael Benitez rewarded the spacy winger with his ninth start of the season after an impressive display at Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday.

He lasted 81 minutes before being replaced

Matt Ritchie converted a penalty‚ Daryl Murphy found the back of the net and a late Dwight Gayle goal secured the win.

Atsu has tallied 22 appearances and emerging a key member of the Magpies set up close to sealing promotion to the English Premier League.

The 25-year-old is on loan from Chelsea.
