Ghana is destined to prosper under NPP – Vice President

His Excellency the vice president of Ghana, Mahamadu Bawumia has re-assured Ghanaians of the government’s willingness and commitment to deliver on the promises they made.

In a brief address to participants of the Ghana@60 health walk, the 2nd Gentleman of the Land stated that under the NPP government Ghanaians are destined for prosperity and unprecedented improvement in all spheres of life

Dr Bawumia highlighted a number of promises made during the campaign era and also some of the tax abolishment made in the 2017 ‘Asempa’ budget to buttress his point.

The highly regarded economist made mention of the abolishment of the ‘nuisance taxes’, ‘the One District, One factory’ project and the One million dollar per constituency promise made by the government as some of the moves being made to ensure that the destiny of Ghana under their watch is that of prosperity but not poverty.

“We were brought into this country by God. A land of a lot of resources and we were not brought here to be poor. Our destiny is not poverty, our destiny is prosperity. That is why in the budget we’ve seen the beginning towards the path of prosperity. Many people thought we couldn’t do free SHS but by Allah’s grace, it is happening this year.

“Many were doubtful of the restoration of the teacher and nursing training allowance but by Allah’s grace, it is happening”.

“Many were of the view that it is impossible to slash the tax imposed on the importation of spare parts but it is happening. Many people thought we could not give each constitution 1million dollar but we are doing it this year. This is the path to prosperity that we want”.

The health walk that happened on Saturday is one of a host of activities lined up to commemorate Ghana’s 60 years anniversary.
