Over 200 aspirants face vetting for MMDCE portfolio in Northern Region

Some short listed applicants lobbying for Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executive (MMDCEs) portfolios are being vetted by the governing New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Northern Regional Secretariat.

A five member committee chaired by a member of the NPP regional council of Elders, Alhaji A.A Bawah is vetting over 200 aspirants from the 26 Districts.

In an interview with Accra-based Citi FM, the NPP Northern Regional Secretary, Sule Salifu said the shortlisted applicants are being subjected to strict proof of their curriculum vitae.

He said one’s loyalty to the party’s road to victory in the 2016 general elections also counts in the assessment of the various aspirants.

A report by the committee after the process will be submitted to the office of the President for consideration.
