Bompata Akyem citizens hold meeting

Accra, Feb. 23, GNA – Citizens of Bompata Ashanti-Akyem in the Ashanti Region have been called upon to unite so that they could complete any development project they initiate.

Nana Asante Abu, II, Krontihene of the town made the call when he met the Accra-Tema resident citizens of the town in Accra on Sunday. The meeting was to deliberate on how to fund a 200 million-cedi water project being undertaken by the citizens.

Nana Abu said the situation where citizens of a town was at each other’s throat do not augur well for a smooth implementation of projects.

He entreated them to visit home regularly so that they could get first hand information about the town’s development. The meeting agreed that voluntary contributions and a levy of 50,000 per resident citizen and 100,000 cedis per non-resident citizen were to be paid to fund the project.
