We’ll resist Nakpana’s burial at Bimbilla – Family of late Bimbilla Na

The Family of the late Overlord of Bimbilla, Naa Abdulai Andani Dasaana has served notice they will resist any attempt to bury the late Nakpana Salifu in Bimbilla as Chief of the town.

At a news conference in the Northern Regional capital, Tamale today, the family pointed out that the late Chief died as Chief of Nakpa, a town close to Bimbilla, hence should be buried at Nakpa, where he reigned.

According to them, allowing the late Chief to be buried at Bimbilla, at the Royal Mausoleum would be a serious dent on the customs and traditions of Nanumg, thus they will resist any moves by the other faction to go contrary to customs.

“We’ll like to state categorically that the sympathizers of Nakpana cannot be trusted when it comes to simple argument…So if you see us infact registering our displeasure and ready to resist any intimidation should they dare bury Nakpana in Bimbilla,is because of their previous inconsistencies in giving title to a dead body that they have in the morgue. Whether he’s Nakpana or Bimbilla Na is an issue that you cannot even judge, a spokesperson for the Family, Tahidu Osman Kikaa said.

Bimbilla town is under curfew after the communal violence that led to the killing of ten people most of whom were women and children.

A combined team of Police and military personnel continue to patrol the area, which has brought relative calm to the area.
