Tema, Feb. 20, GNA – A sprayer who defiled a 17-year-old student whom he knew to be an imbecile has been granted 50 million cedis bail with a surety by Tema Circuit Court “B”.
Eric Ashie alias Baby Boye pleaded not guilty and will re-appear on March 1, 2004.
Prosecuting, Chief Inspector Alice Gyamfi told the court, presided over by Stephen Teye, that on September 9, 2003, at about 1000 hours, Ashie met the victim, who is a known imbecile at Tema Community Seven, lured her into an uncompleted building at Community 12 and forcibly had sex with her.
She said although the victim started bleeding after the act, the accused only took her to the main station at Community Seven and abandoned her.
The victim later informed her sister who detected blood stains in her panties.
The family therefore, lodged a complaint at Community Two police station where medical forms were issued to her to attend hospital for treatment.
Chief Inspector Gyamfi said Ashie was subsequently arrested, and during police interrogation, he admitted the offence, but could not assist police to locate the scene of crime. 20 Feb. 04
