NPP youth warn MP over DCE appointment

The Youth Wing of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo region has issued a stern warning to the Member of Parliament for the area, Freda Prempeh not to interfere in the selection of a DCE for the place.

According to the angry Youth, previous appointments had gone to indigenes of Duayaw Nkwanta though there are four zones in the district.

There has been some tension between party members and leadership over the appointment of MMDCEs; with some party members accusing leadership of lobbying for their favorites to be appointed.

Speaking in an interview with Starr News, Enoch Owusu of the Tano North NPP Youth Wing said the MP has the political right to lobby nonetheless, “we want her to stay off by saying that the people of the Tano North have already agree that they like one man called Karikari [Apau] or so. We want people to know that we have not agree to that nominee.”

He said that was the choice of the MP and not Tano North.
