Adukrom Krontihene destooled

The Krontihene of Adukrom Akuapem, Nana Opoposiopo Arko Asare, has been destooled for alleged misconduct.

According to one of the kingmakers, Nana Asare Duasa, the embattled Krontihene’s attempt to enstool one Nana Opare Ababio at Adukrom last week was against the customs and traditions of the town.

“The former Krontihene, Arko Asare, is not a member of any of the three royal gates of the Anunkode clan neither is he a king maker and so he has no locus in selecting a candidate for the royal family,” he noted.

Nana Asare Duasa pointed out that that act and many accumulated unacceptable conduct of Opoposiopo are in contravention of the Chieftaincy Act, the customs and traditions of the Akuapem Traditional Area and showed gross disrespect for the chief of Adukrom who doubles as the Nifahene of Akuapem, Nana Otutu Ababio V.

Elders of the Akoawi clan of Adukrom (custodians of the Kronti division), the Abusuapanyin of the Akoawi clan (kingmakers in the Kronti division), Okomfo Afua Annorbea (the fetish priest of the Akoawi clan and a king maker in the Kronti division) and some elders of Adukrom therefore, performed the necessary rites to destool Nana Opoposiopo Arko Asare.
