An eleven-year-old girl has committed suicide by hanging herself at Kasoa Old timers in the Awutu Senya East municipality of Central region.
The class six pupil is said to have hanged herself with a mobile phone charger after fighting with his older brother over a pair of socks.
The Kasoa Divisional police command was informed of the unfortunate incident following which the body to was conveyed to the mortuary.
The incident has thrown the entire community into a state of shock and disbelieve as they find it difficult to understand why such a girl would go to such extent of taking her own life through such means.
Investigations into the incident have commenced.
