Minister calls on staff to refrain from issuing road certificates to rickety cars.

Mr. Edward Salia, Minister of Roads and Transport, has called on the staff of his ministry to refrain from issuing road worthy certificates to rickety vehicles and driving licenses to people who do not even know how to sit behind the steering wheel properly. He asked them not to compromise their professionalism in the discharge of their responsibilities. Mr. Salia, who was rounding up a tour of the Northern regions, urged the staff at the weekend to point out the mistakes of contractors to enable them improve the quality of work on road contracts. The Minister assured the people of the Upper West Region that ”the government is working hard to get the necessary funding to complete the tarring of the Wa-Bamboi road in view of its socio-economic importance to the country.
