Evangelical Presbyterian Church holds farewell service

The Kaneshie branch of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Accra on Sunday held a farewell service in honour of Reverend Mrs Patience Akator, the out-going minister, who has served the church for 16 years.

Addressing the congregation, Rev. Akator said the call to serve as a faithful disciple of the Lord was driven by a number of factors including her interest in the scripture and desire to propagate the gospel.

She said her work in the ministry was characterised by turbulent and glorious moments; beginning her journey from Wegboe Kpalime in the Volta Region, then to Russia, Laterbiokohie and Kaneshie districts in Accra as well as serving as a member of the West Volta Presbytery Executive Committee and a facilitator of the Women’s Bible Class among others.

Rev. Akator said she enjoyed God’s grace and blessings throughout her service because she dedicated herself to serving God as a faithful steward.

She admonished members of the congregation not to associate themselves with negative practices such as corruption and occultism and called on the leaders to re-strategise their stewardship approach and adopt a human-centred strategy that would generate the desired change in attitude.

Rev. Akuamoa-Boateng, the Chief Superintendent of Ghana Prisons Service, expressed excitement about the out-going minister’s stewardship saying she has contributed immensely to the development and growth of the church and urged the women to emulate her mentorship.
