Thieves raid Atebubu District Assembly, computers and documents stolen

A number of computers and other vital documents in the Atebubu-Amantim District Assembly of the Brong Ahafo region have been taken away by suspected thieves who broke into various offices on Thursday night.

The bandits according to the District Police Commander Chief Superintendent Joseph Atwu Dzinaku of the Ghana Police Service, the bandits took advantage of the power outage to rip various offices of the assembly of valuable documents and computers.

“The thieves were able to pick four computers and accessories and other important documents from the Youth Employment Agency, Action Aid department, environmental department and information.

He indicated that officials of the assembly lodged a complaint with his outfit and upon examination, it was realized that the doors of the affected offices were broken into by the thieves.

One of the four security personnel stationed at the assembly at night has since been arrested to assist police in their investigations.
