Akufo-Addo to deliver State of Nation Address Feb. 21

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo would present his first State of the Nation Address on Tuesday February 21.

A communiqué has been sent by the President to the Speaker of Parliament to notify the House about his readiness to deliver his first State of the Nation Address.
President Akufo-Addo was sworn in as 7th President of the 4th Republic after winning the December 2016 elections.

The former President, John Dramani Mahama delivered his last State of the Nation Address on January 5, two days before he handed over to President Akufo-Addo.
The President’s address to the nation is expected to touch on several promises made during the electioneering period that is expected to help transform the economy.

Meanwhile, the 2017 budget and policy statement is expected to be read by the Finance Minister, Ken Ofori Atta in March. Several tax cuts are expected to be announced in the government’s first budget statement.
