Mother, Daughter Drown

The Sakumono Police have launched investigations into circumstances that led to the death of a woman believed to be 40 years old and her seven months old baby girl at Klagon.

The bodies of the woman and her daughter were discovered on February 4, 2017 in a river between Klagon and Lashibi, near Tema.

The bodies of the deceased, according to reports, were found lying 50 meters apart in the river.

The woman was wearing a yellow skirt and a blue and red top while the baby was in a diaper.

The Sakumono District Police Command, upon receiving the news, went to the scene and retrieved the bodies from the river with the assistance of residents.

Eyewitness claimed the two died in floods after the downpour on Tuesday, January 28, 2017.

ASP Effia Tenge, in an interview with DAILY GUIDE, said the bodies were yet to be identified.

She said when the bodies were examined, it was discovered that their lower parts had been damaged but their upper parts were intact.

The bodies were deposited at the Police Hospital morgue for preservation while efforts are being made to locate the family.

The police have therefore appealed to the public to help locate the family to assist in investigations.
