SSNIT puts school proprietor before court.

Tema, Feb. 12, GNA- The proprietor of Belfort Preparatory School at Nungua who has defaulted in paying Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contributions deducted from his employees for four years was granted 50 million cedis bail by the Tema circuit court “A”.

Emmanuel Bortey Borketey pleaded not guilty and will reappear on March 24, 2004.

Prosecuting, Mr Sam Owusu Anim, SSNIT Area prosecutor told the court presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu that between May 1985 and July 1989, Borketey who registered with SSNIT and was given employers number 0812282 deducted SSNIT monthly contributions from employees but failed to pay the amount to SSNIT.
