Four drivers fined 5.4 million cedis for traffic offences

Tema, Feb. 10, GNA- The Tema Circuit Court “A” presided over by Mr Charles Asiedu on Monday sentenced four drivers to a total fine of 5.4 million cedis or 26 months imprisonment in default for various traffic offences.

The fines ranged between one million cedis and 1.5 million cedis while the jail terms were from six months to nine months.

They all pleaded guilty to careless driving, parking at unauthorised places, driving without licence and driving defective vehicles.

They are Paul Asiedu, Alex Yankey, Dickson Kodowvia and Victor Olaga. The prosecutor stated that the drivers ignored traffic regulations and took the law into their own hands to misbehave, adding that the Tema police has waged war on drivers in Tema to ensure that they obeyed the traffic regulations.
