Mahama Ayariga left to fight bribery case alone?

They have now assumed the nickname Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego but at the first sitting of the Appointments Committee of Parliament, only one was present before start of proceedings.

Bawku Central Member of Parliament Mahama Ayariga is leading a petition to get the Speaker, Mike Aaron Oquaye, probe a bribery he believes masterminded by now Minister of Energy Boakye Kyeremanteng Agyarko.

Co-petitioners are North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Tamale North MP Alhassan Suhuyini. But on Monday, only ‘Meshach’ Ayariga was present.

But later ‘Shadrach’ Okudzeto Ablakwa joined to vet the second batch of ministerial nominees.

‘Abednego’ Suhuyini was, however, absent.

The two on Monday, nonetheless, played their roles by vetting Dr Anthony Akoto Osei, Otiko Afisa Djaba and Dan Kweku Botwe.

The Speaker is expected to sit on the petition on Tuesday, January 31.
