Truth must find place in NDC – Rawlings

Former President JJ Rawlings has said integrity has been ambushed in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) which he founded.

There are claims that Mr Rawlings will stage a come back for the soul of his party after the NDC lost the 2016 elections.

However Mr Rawlings said he wished such suggestions are true, although he will instead be happy, if God leads the NDC.

“I wish I could say yes, but I think it sounds better in my ear to say that I want God to come and lead us because of the integrity factor. God can be found in the truth.

“It has been ambushed and held hostage. The time has come to free the truth,” Mr Rawlings told the Volta regional caucus of the party in parliament paid him a visit Thursday.

The NDC lost the last December elections to the ruling New Patriotic Party by close to a million votes, in an election that the NDC was so confident of winning due to the massive infrastructure development witnessed under the four year term of ex President John Mahama.
