Haatso: Market building collapses, construction workers flee

An ultra-modern market square under construction at Haatso in Accra has collapsed Tuesday evening.

An eyewitness, Benjamin Danyo told ghonetv.com people in the area have long formed an opinion the pillars underneath the building were weak and ill-aligned.

“Actually we were in our shop, and we heard a loud sound, boom. And we got out to see what you are now seeing in the picture.

“Actually the pillars under that building are just not right,” he said.

No fatalities have been recorded although some workers at the construction site were injured
