Fire guts Sekondi market

Fire has gutted parts of the Sekondi Market in the Western region.

According to an eyewitness, several shops with goods running into thousands of Ghana cedis have been destroyed in the fire outbreak.

It is not clear what triggered the fire outbreak Tuesday evening in one of the biggest markets in the region.

The timely intervention of personnel from the Ghana National Fire Service managed to prevent the fire from spreading to other shops.
