Polytechnic students’ association change name to GNUTS

The Ghana National Union of Polytechnic Students (GNUPS), has changed its name to the Ghana National Union of Technical Students (GNUTS), following the conversion of the Polytechnics in the country into technical universities in 2016.

This was contained in a press statement copied to the Ghana News Agency, in Accra, on Wednesday, and urged all its members, corporate bodies and other stakeholders to respect the decision, adding that the Union has duly fulfilled all legal requirements.

The Union is therefore urging its members, alumni and associates, to take note of the change of name, which was adopted at its First Central Committee and Mini Congress held at the Tamale Technical University, in the Northern Region, from December 1- 4, 2016. The statement said the change of name would enhance its image and ensure a better and positive relationship with its stakeholders.
