JJ arrives on Sunday

Former President Jerry John Rawlings would arrive in Accra from London on Sunday, February 8 at 1815 hours after being out of the country for about three months.

A statement issued from the Office of the Ex-President Rawlings and signed by Mr Victor Smith, his Special Aide yesterday said he was away from the country attending to private as well as some public engagements.

He was in The Hague and The Netherlands together with former Zambian President, Kenneth Kaunda to participate in the launch of a TV documentary about AIDS and the African continent.

The statement said he was also a Special Guest of the President of Niger at the Independence Day celebration of Niger and participated in a VOA programme alongside Dr Kenneth Kaunda.

In between those events Ex-President Rawlings held many private meetings, the statement added.
