ECOWAS military intervention in The Gambia commendable – Vladimir Antwi-Danso

International relations expert Vladimir Antwi-Danso has praised ECOWAS for the swift military intervention in The Gambia.

He said this intervention is critical given it will ensure lives and properties are protected since diplomacy effort have proven futile.

The sitting president Yahya Jemmeh who lost the December 2016 elections has refused to relinquish power to his opponent Adama Barrow.

Jammeh was given an ultimatum to step down before midnight Wednesday January 18.

Antwi-Danso told Lerato Letsoso on GhOne News Tonight on Wednesday January 18th, the only way out seems to be a forceful removal.

Meanwhile, tourists in that country have cut short their trips in anticipation of reprisal actions.

He spoke with Lerato Letsoso on GhOne News Tonight.
