Who was Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II?

The four-day burial rites (doteyie) for the late Asantehemaa, Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II is ending today.

Thousands of mourners thronged the Manhyia Palace where she has been laid in state to file past her remains as well as greet the King, Otumfuor Osei Tutu II on the grounds where the burial rites are being performed.

The president, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his wife, Rebecca Akuffo-Addo among other top states men including former presidents Jerry John Rawlings and John Kufuor and their families are also attending the ceremony.

Nana Afia Kobi Serwaa Ampem II will be buried on Thursday night at the Breman Royal Mausoleum (Ban mu).
