Lifestyle: Older men who have lots of sex risk heart attack

Men over the age of 57 – who engage in regular sexual activity – could be more at risk at cardiovascular disease.

Older men who have sex on a regular basis are more likely to suffer a heart attack, according to scientists.

The new study by Michigan State University found that males over the age of 57 – who engage in sexual activity a minimum of once a week – could suffer a “cardiovascular event”.

According to the research, first published by the Journal of Health and Social Behaviour, the results were the complete opposite for women.

As reported by the Metro newspaper, Ladies who have “extremely pleasurable sex” could experience a lower blood pressure rate among other health benefits.
