NPP executives impound YEA bicycles

Officials of the Youth Employment Agency, (YEA) in the Eastern region were on Friday evening blocked by the New Juaben South Constituency executives of the ruling New Patriotic Party from allegedly transporting some bicycles of the agency.

Some officials of the YEA reportedly led by the Regional Director, Mr Mohammed Pelpuo at around 5 pm were parking ten bicycles from the warehouse of the Authority into a Vehicle but constituency executives of the NPP upon a tip off, rushed to the scene to confront and probe the officials on where the bicycles were being sent to.

The executives unconvinced about the explanations given by the YEA officials seized the items and reported the case to the New Juaben Municipal Police Command.

The Municipal Police Commander, Superintendent Richardson Kumeko, quickly dispatched police officers led by the Station Master Chief Inspector Ebenezer Sakyi to the regional office of the YEA where the bicycles were being loaded.

The bicycles were impounded and loaded into a Police Vehicle for safe keeping at the Municipal police command.

Speaking to Starr News’ Eastern regional Correspondent, Kojo Ansah, the New Juaben South Constituency Vice Chairman of the NPP, Mr Asante Benjamin Benash said the party is helping to prevent corrupt activities by officials of the previous administration still occupying key positions after the transition.

He said the party is not being violent but rather being proactive.
