Ex-convict caught in the act again

Tuobodom (B/A) Jan. 31 GNA – Richard Frimpong, a 32 year old farmer and ex-convict of Tuobodom has been sentenced to 15 months in hard labour by a Magistrate Court at Tuobodom for stealing. Frimpong pleaded guilty to the charge of unlawful entry and stealing a tape recorder valued at 360,000 cedis the property of Mr. Joseph Antwi, a farmer at Tuobodom.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Comfort Nyamesah, told the court, presided over by Mr. George Krofah Addae that on October 13 last year, Mr. Antwi and the wife locked up their doors and windows and left for farm.

Inspector Nyamesah said on their return at about 2 pm, they realized that the locked windows had been forcibly opened and when they got nearer they heard some unusual noise in their room.

As they peeped through the opened window they saw the accused inside and they raised the alarm that attracted some people to the scene and the accused was arrested and sent to the police station.

Mr Addae asked the police to contact the prison authorities to ascertain the status of the accused and if he was indeed an ex-convict his sentence would be increased to 30 months in hard labour.
