Akufo-Addo sacks Cocobod CEO

President Nana Akufo-Addo has fired Dr Stephen Opuni as the CEO of Cocobod.

A letter signed by the president’s Executive Secretary gave Dr Opuni up to the end of Friday, 13 January, to leave office.

According to the letter dated Thursday, January 12, Dr Opuni “ceases to hold office as CEO of Cocobod upon the assumption of office of President Nana Akufo-Addo”.

He is, therefore, expected to hand over office documents and property by the stipulated date.

This is not the first letter from the new government asking public officials to vacate their post. A directive from the Local Government Ministry also asked all MMDCEs to vacate their posts on Thursday, January 12.
