What’s wrong if Akufo-Addo plagiarized his speech – Majority Leader asks

The Majority Leader in Parliament Osei Kyei Mensah-Bonsu is questioning why there is a hue and cry about President Akufo-Addo’s inaugural speech when the main substance of the of the speech should rather be of interest.

He questions what is fundamentally wrong if he used a plagiarized speech shortly after being sworn into office last Saturday January 7, 2017 at the Independence Square.

“If Nana Addo used that, what is wrong with that”, he asks

According to him on the Ultimate Breakfast show hosted by Lantam Papanko, it is very difficult to determine the original source of some of the quotes in the speech that has become a matter of local and international discussion.

“It will be difficult to say that these are the words of President Bush and President Clinton because they were not the original people that used them. Maybe the source remains unknown”, he.

He faulted the Director of Communications at the Presidency Eugene Arhin, for rendering a public apology on the matter stating “In my opinion, it was unnecessary for him Eugene Arhin to apologise because the construction is not original to Nana Addo, President Bush and President Clinton. It is a commitment that we share”
