A lot of work has gone into fixing ‘dumsor’ – Mahama

Outgoing President of the Republic of Ghana, John Dramani Mahama, Thursday, mounted the podium in the Parliament of Ghana and touted his achievement in the energy sector as the best ever.

According to the President, although the country experienced almost three and half years of power outages under his care, his resolved to addressing the issue was phenomenal.

He told members that as he stood before them, he could confidently say that he has delivered on his promise of solving the dumsor crisis.

“It has taken a lot of hardworking fast-tracking the delivery of emergency power badges to address the power crisis situation, he noted is his Message on the State of the Nation address which was delivered on the floor of the House.

He said through hard work, he was able to increase the power generation to about 800MW.

” Under my leadership, generation continues to increase”, he added.

With this achievement, he said Ghana is one of the African countries where access to electricity supply is very high.

Ghana, he added, has an estimated electricity supply of about 80%.
