Service personnel in Ahafo-Ano North attend induction course

Tepa (Ash), Jan. 26, GNA- The Ahafo-Ano North district office of the National Service Secretariat on Thursday organised a day’s induction course for 30 national service personnel posted to the district at Tepa. Mr Gabriel Nyorkei, the District Co-ordinator of the service, who addressed them, warned against absenteeism.

He told them that any service personnel who absented himself or herself from work for 10 consecutive days without permission would be considered as having vacated his or her post.

Mr Nyorkei, therefore, advised the personnel to be regular and punctual at work to justify the allowances paid to them, pointing out that the allowances were paid to them because of the work they do and not because they are service personnel.

He told them that service personnel are posted to areas where their services were needed and warned them that self-posting would not be tolerated.

Mr Nyorkei advised them to respect their heads of department and establish good working relationship with the people they work with and the communities.

During an open forum, the personnel appealed to the National Service Secretariat to ensure that their allowances and other materials meant for them were sent on time.
