Robbers kill Police officer at Wa

Edmund Kokovi, a police officer stationed at Wechiau in the Wa West district of the Upper East Region has been shot and killed by armed robbers.

The incident, according to an eyewitness, occurred along the Wechiau-Tokali road on Saturday December 24 when he was reporting for work at the residence of the District Chief Executive of Wa West.

The suspected robbers opened fire on the officer fearing he was chasing them.

The body has since been deposited at the Wa Regional Hospital but investigations are yet to begin.
