Deputy Minority leader in Parliament, Dominic Nitiwul, has described as appalling, the government’s decision not to only give new contracts but also make appointments to some key state institutions.
Nitiwul who is also the NPP member responsible for Defense on the Transition team has raised fresh accusation against the outgoing NDC government of signing new deals and rushing to make new appointments to certain state institutions like the Auditor-General’s Department, the Statistical Service and the Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ).
Speaking on GHOne TV Current Affairs show, #StateOfAffairs Monday, the lawmaker said:
“Don’t out of “bad faith” do anything that will bring problems onto the next administration. If you appoint an Auditor-General at this time, that is supposed to audit your books, that is bad faith, not good enough and that is exactly what the government is doing now.
“…why are you appointing a government statistician when you have just lost an election. Why can’t you just leave it to an incoming government?… if we did that to the NDC or any government, they will not be happy so why are they doing that?
“You are appointing a CHRAJ boss today; when you do that, someone will say that is bad faith…,” Dominic Nitiwul also added.
