Police to roll out ‘operation father Christmas’.

Scores of policemen are expected to be deployed across the country to ensure peace and security during the Christmas celebration.

Under the code day “Operation Father Christmas,” the deployment will also include allied security agencies such as the Military to strategic areas to reduce crime.
The programme is an annual programme by the police service aimed at ensuring public safety and security during the festive season.

It is usually rolled out two or three months to the festive season but because of this year’s elections, it was delayed.

Director-General of Police Operations, Mr Christian Tetteh Yohuno, told TV 3 that nothing will be left to chance, promising tight security at strategic locations.

According to high, the police will also improve its visibility patrols as well as involve the Marine police and detectives.
He also urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the police emergency line if they are in danger.
