We’ll track and retrieve all stolen money – Kennedy Agyapong

MP for Assin North, Kennedy Agyapong has been discussing NPP’s victory and some expectations and plans of the party when they come into power.

In an interview on Adom TV’s ‘Badwam’, he said the are so many wrongs going on in the country that the NPP would rectify when they take over power come January.

Corruption was one of the issues he touched on. He accused the outgoing government of embezzlement of state money through projects they did, citing an overpass constructed by the government as an example.

“The engineer who was in charge of that construction is my senior and he told me although he charged only $1.2m he was forced to pen down $5.7m in the contract”.

The rest of the money, he said they used for their selfish needs. “They’re building hotels in Dubai and opening private accounts in the UK to hold their embezzled money”, he said. “We will track every money money they took from us Ghanaian”, he added.

He also explained that one of the reasons NPP won the election is because the incumbent and outgoing government, NDC were not prudent and had no value for money saying the Airport terminal the government is constructing for $250m could actually put up 3 of that structure with only $40m more. And to him, that’s exactly what the NPP is coming to do over the next four years.
