We plotted to kill NPP Ashanti regional secretary – NDC Communicator

A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Christopher Aniboy aka Kawunda has made a shocking revelation that the party plotted to kill the Ashanti regional secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Sam Payne prior to the election.

He made the revelation in an interview with Kwame Tutu host of Rainbow Radio’s morning show Frontline. Aniboy who doubles as the chairman for Concerned Youth Organization a pressure group within the NDC said emphatically that, they were contracted to kill Sam Payne.

According to him they schemed to crash his car which was to cause his death.

”We went to the regional minister’s house to plot and find ways of communicating and finding ways to capitalize on how the team will communicate and counter the opposition. And upon reflection, Sam Payne was seen as a threat to our work and so we were asked to crash his [Payne’s] car so he dies.’’

Christopher Aniboy said he is a member of the Nsuta Kwaman Biposo constituency of the NDC and a paid member.

When asked to confirm his allegation, he said, the meeting was held at the former regional minister’s office, Hon. Aneefi for Sam Payne to be killed because he was a threat to the NDC’s chances in the Ashanti region.

He went on to state that, the plot was witnessed by the communication team from the various constituencies in the Ashanti region.

He revealed further that the plot backfired and so they could not carry it out.

‘’The party plotted to kill Sam Payne because he was seen as an influential communicator and he was also a threat to the party NDC. So they wanted him dead so the NPP will be weak in the region and the NDC gain more grounds after his death,’’ he alleged.

He said, Solomon Anani, Mr. Akalilu are also aware of the plot orchestrated.
