Yamoah Ponkoh part of the reasons NDC lost power – Kofi Adams

Campaign Cordinator for John Mahama 2016 says former Municipal Chief Executive for Ejisu, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh is part of the reasons the ruling National Democratic Congress lost last week’s presidential polls.

According to Kofi Adams, the campaign team had a tough time defending some scandals that occurred around Yamoah Ponkoh’s tenure as MCE for Ejisu and Ashanti Regional Manager for National Health Insurance Scheme.

Kofi Adams was responding to accusations by the maverick politician he (Adams) ”should have been hanged for the NDC’s defeat.”

Adams, who is also National Organiser for the NDC will however not name specific scandals Yamoah Ponkoh was involved in.

Afrifa Yamoah Ponko had said the National Coordinator of the party’s 2016 campaign Kofi Adams must be killed for the party’s defeat.

According to him, circumstances surrounding the party’s defeat is unpardonable, and Adams cannot absolve himself of blame.

President John Mahama and the ruling NDC were defeated in last week’s presidential and parliamentary polls by the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo.

The NPP trashed the ruling party by about one million votes and also won majority of the parliamentary seats.
